He also had a listening session with Rick Rubin and Andre 3000.
Big Sean's I Decided is on the way, and today we got to learn a little bit about the project. In conversation with Zane Lowe, Sean spoke of some of the collaborators involved his fourth studio album, including a track with fellow Detroit emcee Eminem.
According to Sean, Em will appear on a song called "No Favors," while a track called "Sunday Morning Jetpack" will feature celebrated songwriter The-Dream. According to Sean, there won't be too many guest appearances on the album, as they were carefully selected.
"He was the only person I heard that could be on that song to keep it honest," said Sean of Eminem's contribution to the album. "It kinda reminded me of why I am such an Eminem fan, and why I fell in love with Eminem's work. The way he's unique -- he's special ... When he did this verse it brought that feeling right back to me. Like, this is like a brand new energy."
According to Zane Lowe, Eminem doesn't even sound like himself when he first enters the song. This should be interesting.
At one point, Sean talks of a listening session with Rick Rubin and Andre 3000, so it's safe to say that the LP has been vetted by some reliable sources. The project will arrive February 3rd on GOOD Music and Def Jam records.
