The 10 Craziest Tour Riders In Hip-Hop
What are the necessary ingredients to a great hip hop show? Well, there's a crowd, a good sound system, a capable DJ, a charismatic performer and lights, but then there are the factors that go largely unseen by attendees. These luxuries demanded by performers are listed on pieces of paper commonly called riders, and every so often, one will get leaked out to the public, usually resulting in shock and scoffing.
Charts Don't Lie: June 27
While next week should be more exciting, the last round of rap sales were pretty lacklustre. With ASAP Rocky's album dropping to number 12, it's the first week in some time with no hip hop or R&B in the top ten. The LPs we've seen selling all year are still hanging in, with Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Kendrick Lamar all continuing to sell. Meanwhile, J. Cole has jumped up a few spots, showing that his LP, though released last year, still has some life left in it.Check out the full breakdown below.
Drake, Pharrell, Jaden Smith, Dr. Dre To Host Beats 1 Radio Shows
It's been rumored for a while that Drake and Pharrell would be contributing to Apple Music in one way or another, and the popular theory was that the artists would be contributing to a radio service provided by the company. This has all truned out to be true, as Zane Lowe (who made his way from BBC1, and will also host his own show) has revealed that Drake, Pharrell, Dr. Dre, Elton John, Disclosure and the one and only Jaden Smith will all have their own programs through Beats 1 Radio.
Lil Wayne Claims That Drake & Nicki Minaj Might Leave Young Money Because Of Birdman
The Lil Wayne/Birdman drama is far from over, although it's quieted down for a minute.
Meek Mill Reveals Huge Features On "Dreams Worth More Than Money"
While it's rumored to be released later this month, we still don't know a whole lot about Meek Mill's upcoming sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. Following his interview with UK DJ Charlie Sloth, we now know some of the big names who will appear on the project.
Top 10 Hip-Hop Albums Of 2015 (So Far)
How the hell did we make it through fifty percent of 2015 already? June has seemingly crept up out of nowhere, marking the halfway checkpoint of a year that, so far, has been ripe with exceptional releases from some of hip-hop’s brightest emcees. Releases-- highly anticipated or dropped by surprise, some commercial mixtapes and some full albums -- have infused the year with some fun that surely help the time pass as we approach the new year.
Drake & The Game Shoot New Music Video For "100" In Compton
Drake has been a busy man these past few days. The OVO crooner not only held a massive celebrity-filled party at his L.A. mansion over the weekend, which featured guests Kanye West, Amber Rose, Travis Scott, the Game, French Montana, and more, but he also apparently shot a new music video with the Game for an upcoming song called “100”.
Travis Scott Blasts Air Canada, Suggests Drake Should Buy It
There aren't a lot of things to hate on Canada for. The home of great healthcare coverage, genuinely friendly people, and Drake generally has a pretty good reputation, but as polite as its residents may be, anyone who lives there will tell you that Air Canada totally sucks.
Sprite Is Putting Lyrics From Nas, Biggie, Drake & Rakim On Their Cans
Sprite has always had a connection to rap music. As an advertiser, they were one of the first brands to promote their product with the assistance of rappers, and to specifically target an urban audience in so doing. Not only that, but when most brands did try to incorporate rappers into their ad campaigns they went the mainstream, pop-friendly route, whereas Sprite tapped more credible, "real" hip-hop artists such as Curtis Blow and Heavy D. Thus it may come as no surprise that they're digging into their hip-hop roots once more with their latest ad campaign, "Obey Your Verse."
#TBT: The Weeknd's Mixtape Cuts
In 2011, The Weeknd released a trio of mixtapes that would eventually become known as The Trilogy. Arriving at the same time as electronic music was starting to really blow up in America, the dense, thick, dubby, druggy sound was a huge hit in the underground, and it didn't take long for the mainstream to catch on.

Drake & The Weeknd Appear Onstage At Apple Music Launch Event
Ever since The Weeknd turned down a deal with OVO, it's been clear that there's some bad blood between him and Drake, but between a recent hint at new collabs and this Apple conference today, it's looking more and more like they've patched things up.
Watch Clips From Drake's Performance At Governor's Ball
Wearing some very tight black jeans, Drake took the stage Friday night on Randall's Island in NYC to headline the opening day of Governor's Ball 2015. Old jams, slow jams, new jams, Drake left no stone unturned as he opened it all off with "Legend" before entertaining the Gov Ball faithful with "Trophies," "HYFR," Big Sean's "Blessings," and much more. Vibe reports that he had "the crowd eating from the palm of his hand."
Charts Don't Lie: June 6
After a few uneventful weeks on the charts, ASAP Rocky and Boosie Badazz brought some much-needed excitement with their strong debuts. Each a respective triumph, Rocky took the number one spot, while Boosie moved in comfortably at number 3. While it didn't qualify for the Billboard 200, it should also be noted that Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment's SURF pulled in over 600,000 downloads on iTunes, making it (in some capacity) the biggest release of the week.
Tinashe Is Working With The World's Biggest Pop Producers For Her Next Album
In the R&B game, there's no one hotter than Tinashe. Last fall, the 22-year-old L.A. singer blew us away with her debut album, Aquarius, which is still spawning hits, such as "All Hands On Deck," which just got a remarkable new video.
ILoveMakonnen & PartyNextDoor Reportedly Uninterested In Being XXL Freshmen
Earlier this afternoon XXL unveiled their 2015 XXL Freshmen cover after much anticipation. The cover's been a long time coming, with artists pushing for their spot several months ago. The Freshmen class includes a few unsurprising names, such as Fetty Wap, DeJ Loaf, OG Maco and Tink, and a few from left-field like GoldLink and Kidd Kidd, although, that tends to be the case every year.
Apple Reportedly Pulled Drake Away From Tidal
The first thought that went through many peoples minds when they saw the Tidal team standing on stage (after cracking an Illuminati joke, that is) was "where's Drake?". The rapper's absence was definitely noticed, but no direct explanation was ever given about whether or not he was approached to be a part of the project.
