Young Buck is facing serious time. The former G-Unit rapper, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, is up against federal charges for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The Nashville native was indicted following a court date yesterday, meaning that he could face up to 10 years behind bars.

Buck pleaded not guilty during the hearing, while his lawyer stated that he was surprised by the charges. Buck is currently out on bond, and while he's scheduled to perform in Canada, he has been forced to hand over his passport. To re-obtain his passport, the judge is offering him the opportunity to post $100,000 bond by Friday (March 11).

The charges stem from a raid on his home by feds and IRS agents in August 2010, when the agents busted into his abode to repossess items to pay off his $300,000 tax debt. During the ransack, police discovered a .40-caliber pistol and ammo in his possession, though the charges weren't brought about until recently.

"This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers, and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music," Buck said at the time. "From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business." He was forced to declare bankruptcy, and later attempted to sue the IRS for the raid. Buck's lawsuit claimed the raid prevented him from being able to make money to pay off his large debt.

In 2004, Buck was convicted of stabbing a man during the Vibe Awards.
