After dropping "Heir to the Throne" and "Heat it Up," Vic Mensa is back with his "I Been," his third track in three weeks.
The track is produced by Smoke Ono and Mike Dean, with additional work from Carter Lang and Papi Beatz. Smoko Ono has a history with Vic Mensa, having produced 2014's "Feel That." Mike Dean has had a storied production career, and given that him and Mensa both have a strong connection Kanye West, perhaps "I Been" is a preview of the sort of sounds we'll hear on SWISH. At any rate, knowing Mike Dean's mixing style, the track was engineered so that it would bang when performed live.
