“Thx so much for all the [love],” Vanessa wrote in an Instagram story. “@nataliabryant and I have unfortunately had to block fan pages because it’s been really hard to go online and constantly see pics of our beloved Gigi and Kobe under every single square of our explore pages. Blocking the fan pages has helped change the algorithm. We [love] you all but please understand that we had to do this for our own healing not because we don’t appreciate your [love].”

Kobe and their daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. One month later, Vanessa spoke to a crowd of over 19,000 fans at Staples Center during a memorial for the Laker legend. "We really had an amazing love story," Vanessa said. "We loved each other with our whole beings. Two perfectly imperfect people making a beautiful family and raising our sweet and amazing girls.

"God knew they couldn't be on this earth without each other. He had to bring them home to heaven together," she added.
