Francis Ngannou may have secured the KO of the year.
It was a mean KO that secured Francis Ngannou's win over Alistair Overeem Saturday night. In an explosive night that boasted a card in which Yancy Medeiros and Alex Oliviera put on what could go down as the fight of the year and Max Holloway retained his Featherweight Title against Jose Aldo, it was Francis Ngannou's knckout win over Alistair Overeem that has everyone talking for the most part.
The win meant another notch of Ngannou's winning streak in the UFC all while putting a damper on Overeem's quest toward a title. It was at the 1:42 mark that the Cameroonian-French contender blocked a wide left hand and delivered on an uppercut that sent Overeem to the mat.
"I want the title shot," Ngannou said. "Dana White [UFC president] said the winner will get a title shot. I think I got it."
