"I was saying to myself, 'They cannot tie up this series, they cannot.'"

Kyrie Irving had himself a night in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, scoring a career playoff-high 42 points including a red hot third quarter wherein he scored 21 points on 9/10 shooting.

After LeBron James picked up four quick fouls in the first half and the team fell behind by 16 points, the burden fell squarely on Kyrie's shoulders to prevent the Celtics from tying up the series.

"I was saying to myself, 'They cannot tie up this series, they cannot,'" Irving said. "We had to be able to face adversity, look it in the face, and say, 'You're not going to win today.'"

"He's a special talent," James said about Irving. "He rose to the occasion and he put the team on his back. We definitely needed that effort from him."

Cavs fans got another scare when Irving went down with an ankle injury in the third quarter, though he was able to just tighten his shoes and stay in the game.

"I've twisted my ankle so many times on plays like that," Irving said. "You have two choices, you can sit there and wallow in the sorrow of you twisting your ankle or capture the moment."

Amidst Kyrie's dominant performance, especially his run in the third quarter, #NBATwitter was buzzing. Check out some of the highlights from Game 4 as well as the reactions on social media below.
