Gibson donates $20K in wake of tragedy.

Earlier this month two women in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood were shot and killed when two men reportedly opened fire into a crowd of people outside of the Stuyvesant Gardens Houses.

The New York Daily News reports that 29-year old Shaqwanda Staley, and 21-year old mother, Chynna-Ann Battle, were not the intended targets, according to police.

In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $30,000 was set up to benefit Battle's three-year old daughter, Amelia. After learning of the charity, Taj Gibson, who was born in Brooklyn, graciously donated $20,000 to the cause, bringing them much closer to reaching the $30k goal.

The 32-year old forward signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves this offseason.
