As we've been refreshing the site look, you've probably noticed the design changes we’ve been implementing over the last few months.  There’s been a lot of good feedback coming in from everyone, so thanks for the support. We’ve also come across a lot of helpful emails pointing out some bugs on the site.  If you do spot anything, send us a message at

There’s also a new photo viewer that we’ll be implementing in future articles.  We decided to test it out using our footage and pics from Summer Jam 2012. [Check out our Recap Video and Photos here.]

We receive a ton of music daily from artists that submit songs, mixtapes and videos.  We don’t always have the chance to hear it all, but we’ve come across a lot of good music from unsigned and indie artists.

We wanted to find a way to show some love to the Top Submissions that we’ve received and also give a hand to artists that deserve it. So we decided to feature them in an ongoing spotlight we’re calling HNHH Heatseekers.

Our editors will choose a handful of artists to feature every week (or two).  We’ll be posting a small bio about them, along with some of their music and links to their Facebook, Twitter and website.

The criteria for the chosen submissions are based on the following:
- Strong Lyrical Content and/or Song Concept
- Overall recording quality and production quality (Songs and/or Videos)
- Artistic Appeal and/or Commercial Appeal
- Flow and Voice
- Originality

Other factors considered:
- Existing following/ Fan base
- Professional Approach and Presentation

We're on the lookout for good music, but we also want to see artists that look like they have their ‘ish’ together. Making it in the music industry is a grind and we know that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make a name for yourself and your music.

We appreciate all the music that is submitted to our site.  We know that we can’t possibly listen to every submission, but with these features, we hope to showcase artists that are on the verge of something, and hopefully give a boost to their careers.

This opportunity is something we're trying out, and is only for unsigned or independent artists who are not already commercially established or receiving major commercial radio-play or distribution.

To apply, check out the guidelines in our FAQ section: 9. How can I get my mixtape featured? These guidelines apply to mixtapes, songs and videos.
