The Seattle Seahawks are going to the playoffs.

Despite starting the season with a shaky 0-2 start, the Seattle Seahawks have battled back and thanks to their latest win against the surging Kansas City Chiefs, have secured a wild-card spot.

Both teams played in Seattle in a high-scoring Sunday night football game. The Seahawks came away with a 38-31 victory that saw three touchdown passes from Russell Wilson and two rushing touchdowns from Chris Carson. Thanks to the win, Wilson and company are now fifth in the NFC and are guaranteed to make the playoffs. They can secure the fifth spot in the conference with a win next weekend against their divisional rival, the Arizona Cardinals.

Head coach Pete Carroll was excited about the win, telling ESPN that getting to the playoffs was a tough task this season. "There's an emotion to it that's deep, and it's because there wasn't very many people that thought we could do this," Carroll explained. "Most everybody thought we didn't have a chance."

This is the seventh time in nine seasons that the Seahawks have made the playoffs with Carroll as their head coach. That includes a Super Bowl victory in 2014 when the team defeated the Denver Broncos by a score of 43-8.

It is not confirmed who the Seahawks will be playing in their wild-card matchup, however, the playoff picture will be all set by next weekend.
