DJ Spinderella clears the air about not participating in the group's upcoming tour.

Legendary hip-hop trio Salt-N-Pepa are still being played to this day, with songs like "Push It" remaining in steady rotation on many a throwback playlist. As such, their loyal fans were excited to see the group were hitting the road once again, set to join New Kids On The Block for "The Mixtape Tour" this summer. The tour's promotional material even featured pictures of all three members - Salt, Pepa, and DJ Spinderella - standing as a united front. Yet things are not entirely what they seem. Spinderella took to Instagram to reveal that she would not be participating in the tour, despite reports that the group were moving forward as a trio.

In a revealing IG post, Spinderella opens up about her "termination" from the group, explaining the situation as follows. “I'm deeply saddened to share with all the #SaltnPepa and #Spinderella fans that I will not be performing on the #NKOTB Mixtape Tour," she writes. "Despite my participation in promoting the tour and being highly publicized as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘termination’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performances with the group."

"It was my expectation, after making that decision, that they would also take responsibility for sharing the news with the public and other affected parties. It has been months now with no mention," she continues. "Out of love for my fans and a commitment to upholding a standard of professionalism, I've taken it upon myself to let everyone know." While the news come as a disappointment to those hoping to catch the iconic trifecta, rest assured that Spinderella isn't finished yet. "Please know you will have the opportunity to see me this summer in many other projects and activities I'll be participating in and I look forward to seeing you all then.”
