Toronto artist SAFE dropped off a full-length project on his Soundcloud a few days ago, Stay Down. The project features one song we're already familiar with, the haunting "Feel" which the rapper dropped a visual for the other month. The visual featured a few OVO indicators-- leading speculation about SAFE's ties with OVO, but OVO seems to have ties with just about any and every artist coming up outta the Six these days, thanks in most part to coverage on OVO Sound Radio.
SAFE takes the reigns on a bleak sound that teeters between r'n'b and simply melodic rap. "Eternity" kicks off Stay Down with light piano keys produced by CVRE, before removing the piano in place of a hard-hitting drums and bass, and then slowly bringing the piano element to the background. SAFE himself weaves in and out from auto-tune, sometimes layering it up more than other times.
