Chicago rapper Saba shared this joint via his Soundcloud late last night. The talented producer has been laying his vocals down a lot more often of late, which we are definitely a fan of.
“Soap Box” varies wildly in energy throughout the track, but in a really great way. Parts of the beat are guitar-driven and very heavy, but as the chorus approaches the guitars fade away into jazzy piano keys and synths. It has the effect of a big bass drop, but without the traditional built up. The lyrics reflect the title of the song, as Saba spits his frustrations with the world today. Saba co-produced the beat with frequent collaborator Phoelix.
