Nicki Minaj is known for eccentric and crazy style, from colorful wigs to bright clothes and make-up, the girl is hardly ever seen in a make-up-less look.
For ELLE Magazine, Nicki stripped down to the basics and kept it simple for her cover feature. Although it was difficult for Nicki to do, because she's so used to the pink lipstick, she managed. Speaking on the photo shoot with ELLE, the Barbz leader said, "When I saw myself with barely any makeup at, it was such a… like, I'm so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it's hard." She continued, "I feel that it's become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol' crazy lashes— you know, nothing— I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes."
Recently it was rumored that Nicki fired her fashion team so that she could evolve with a more sophisticated look, so perhaps this shoot is just one step in that direction.
