Is he 23? Is he 19?

The NBA Draft will take place tonight at 7:00 on ESPN but we already know that Ben Simmons is going #1 to the Sixers, and Brandon Ingram will be headed to the Lakers at #2. After that, it's anyone's guess but according to reports you can completely rule out Thon Maker.

It was always a stretch that the mysterious 7'1 center from South Sudan would end up as a lottery pick but many teams are now ruling him out of the first round entirely because of age concerns.

When Thon Maker was (approximately) 5 years old, his family escaped a civil war at home and moved to Uganda before eventually settling as refugees in Australia where he was ultimately discovered by Canadian basketball coach, Edward Smith.

Although his birth date is officially listed as February 25, 1997, teams believe that he could be as old as 23, not 19, which is a huge difference for a guy with raw talent and much improvement needed to reach his potential.
