After delivering the Honorable C Note-produced "Say Sum," Migos are back today with frequent collaborator Cheeze Beatz on "Cocoon." In a similar vein as "Say Sum," they've really toned things down, going more of an r'n'b route (while still not being full-out r'n'b), with slowed down production and more melodic flows than their usual aggressive and jumpy nature. Perhaps this is an indication of what kind of sound to expect on their forthcoming project No Label 3? Are you feeling the new direction?
On "Cocoon" the trio sing-rap with the help of auto-tune, over a soft, key-driven beat from Cheeze. Even with the surprising sound, the content is to be expected; money, drugs, and your bitch.
When I take drugs I go to the moon
Little spoiled bitch, 2000 on shoes
Walk in the club with one Bentley, with two
By myself at the top like cocoon
When I'm in the coup I feel like a cocoon
