Los Angeles Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma scored a career-high 38 points on 12/17 shooting last night in Houston as the Lake Show snapped the Rockets' 14-game winning streak.

After the win, Kuzma spoke about how his mentality doesn't change no matter who the opponent is, which warranted a little shout out from Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Speaking with reporters after his career night, Kuzma said,

“It’s a better team but it’s the same mentality. I’ve got the same mentality every time I step on the court. I try to play my hardest and just be locked in.”

Kuzma wasn't the only player who went off last night. James Harden erupted for 51 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome Kuzma and co.

The 22-year old forward was drafted by the Lakers with the 27th overall pick in the NBA Draft and has quickly established himself as one of the steals of the draft. In fact, he has inserted himself into the Rookie of the Year conversation.

In 28 games this season, Kuzma is averaging 17.4 points per game, which is second among rookies behind Donovan Mitchell's 17.7 per game. Additionally, the 6'9 forward is averaging 6.6 rebounds per game.
