Kevin Gates' music is so hard it makes one wonder what type of music he actually takes inspiration from. Well, the answer might surprise you, as Gates recently revealed that his favorite song of the moment is "Hello," Adele's smash hit that has been No. 1 on the Billboard 100 for 10 weeks in a row. "That's the theme song to my life," Gates told the All Out Show on Sirius XM.
Just as Gates begins touching on the song's inspiration, "Hello" starts to play in the background, and the BWA boss keeps talking -- diving into tales of struggle, defeat, and the occasional triumph. We pretty much get his whole life story, and it's powerful stuff. Gates should experiment with more spoken word performances in the future.
