Justin Simien's directorial debut "Dear White People" has been earning critical-acclaim across the globe for its poignant and timely social satire about the modern Black struggle. Appropriately then, the film's soundtrack is filled with similarly themed musical numbers. "Mr. Blackman," a fresh cut from Hopsin that serves as the tape's opener, finds the emcee touching upon his own struggle with race relations. Give the track a listen and let us know what you think.

Check for "Mr. Blackman" on the Dear White People original soundtrack, which is available now on iTunes. The movie, too, is available in limited release.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can't even take a breath without it changing your perspective of me
You always think that you're a step above me
My gear is fresh; you think I'm dressing ugly
Guess it's just the essence of me
