Actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie attend the premiere of HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' season 7 at Walt Disney Concert Hall on July 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.

The series is set 1,000 years before "Game of Thrones."

Game of Thrones is set to end next year, but HBO is not ready to let go of the most popular show in the world just yet. The cable network announced last year that they were going to dive into several Game of Thrones spin-offs, one being a prequel. Now, according to The Belfast Telegraphit appears that the prequel is set to begin production this Fall.

The staff members who work at the Paint Hall studios in Belfast's Titanic Quarter were recently told that their next project will be based on a series that takes place 1,000 years before the plot of Game of Thrones. A working title for the series has been confirmed to be The Long Night. The prequel series will focus on the White Walkers, and explore the Stark lineage even further. Producers believe that the final name of the show will be altered to include the Game of Thrones name.

The final season of Game of Thrones premieres next Summer, and will finish the story of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, and the White Walkers. Last season, Snow proved to the world that the dead were coming for the living, Daenerys' dragon was turned into a White Walker, the two began an affair, and Tyrion was left looking concerned.
