Los Angeles rapper Free Ackrite has shared a new take on 03 Greedo's "Sweet Lady," an early cut from the rapper that sample Tyrese's song of the same name. It recently showed up as one of the songs that inspired Drake's Scorpion, and is proof that as Greedo prepares to face a 20-year prison sentence, his music will live on through his incarceration. Ackrite's version cleans up the beat a bit, opting for a less-distorted bass sound that comes off breezier and more traditionally West Coast. His flows have a glide to them that take the track in a new direction as well.
The song follows "Stand Down," "Like This," and "G-Shit," three singles from the rapper released earlier this year. Ackrite released his last project Out On Bail last year. He has yet to announce plans for a follow-up but appears to be working up to something.
