The practice mode is disappearing next week.

Fortnite developer Epic Games was on the right track when they developed Playground Mode. The limited time mode was announced and released, but they suspended it due to glitches on the same day. Gamers who had just a little taste of the practice mode were instantly hooked, and luckily, Epic Games was able to fix the bugs and relaunch the mode

Gamers took advantage of the practice mode, which allows for respawns and free roam without worrying about a storm. Some of the craziest structures ever built were constructed in Playground Mode, as players spent hours just experimenting with new methods. Now, Epic Games has announced that they will be suspending the popular game mode.

On Fortnite's Reddit, the game's developers state that they will be shutting down Playground Mode next week to make updates."We appreciate all of the awesome feedback we’ve received and are beginning work on the next version of Playground," they wrote. "We’ll be turning off the Playground LTM on Thursday, July 12th as we take it back under construction for the next version."

Although that doesn't sound hopeful, they continued on to state exactly what kind of upgrades would be made."For the next version of Playground we’re hoping to include functionality that would allow team selection options within the Playground itself." Here’s a list of the updates Epic Games would like to include:

1v1s and 2v2s

Aim assist for controllers

Editing other player’s structures

Traps affecting teammates/enemies correctly

Highlighting teammates on the map

Damaging enemies with your pickaxe
