As if there weren't enough reasons to be envious of Dr. Dre right now, Compton Mayor Aja Brown has officially reached out to the rapper's camp to offer the new billionaire the key to his home city. This news comes on the heels of huge deal that went through with Apple and Dr. Dre, Apple forked over $3.2 billion to buy Beats Electronics. In addition to pocketing a lot of cash from the deal, Dre and Jimmy Iovine are reportedly getting senior positions at Apple.
Reported by TMZ, the honor would put Dre alongside fellow hip-hop pioneer DJ Quik who was previously given the key for his charitable efforts in the community. Assuming the Doc accepts the offer, he would become Compton's first billionaire key holder. Mayor Brown also hopes the rapper will give back to the community that raised him and sponsor performance arts programs in area to restore her city. In other words, Compton needs a doctor to bring it back to life and Andre may just be the man for the job.
