Fans of Dr. Dre have been doubtful for sometime that Detox will actually be released...some day.....
Production of Detox began in 2002 and since that time there has been much anticipation, criticism and delays. However, it seems that Detox is actually on the way this time. When Kendrick Lamar was interviewed by Shade 45's Sway Calloway he talked about collaborating with Dre on Detox, and according to K.Dot the LP is getting mixed: "Detox is getting mixed. That's all I can say. It's getting mixed.
I could say anything about Detox, nobody would ever believe me."
That is definitely true. I know that I personally tend to dismiss a lot of what I hear about Detox because I do not actually expect it to ever be released..however I'm sure everyone will be glad to hear that Detox IS going to come out (...eventually).
More details on the album have emerged from some recent video footage of Snoop Dogg along with DJ Quik, Battlecat, The D.O.C. and others working in the studio together to create four songs for Detox. In the video Snoop says that they need to leave the studio with four hit records for Dr. Dre (!!!), two solos and two with Snoop on. You can check out some of the footage below. Leggo!!
