Detroit emcee Dej Loaf has been promoting tracks from her last releases, but headed back to the studio for “Off The Top.” She takes it back to the streets for this one, opting for heavy bass and steady stanzas over singing.
The production is simultaneously trap and syrupy-sweet, pairing booming bass and trap snares with an upbeat piano line. It works perfectly with Dej Loaf’s vocals as she spits bars about her come up in Detroit and intermingles them with sing-song interludes.
Dej Loaf recently dropped her “Desire” video, which you should definitely check out.
