Esteemed Yay Area vet Clyde Carson is working towards the release of his upcoming album Something To Speak About 2 on February 3rd. He invites Sacramento riser Mozzy to rap a verse on his new track "Bring All Your Friends," released today in an HNHH premiere.
"I reached out [to Mozzy] because I was a fan," Carson told HNHH by email. "I hadn't met him before. It was good to see someone from Sac popping off. I just felt like it was more a natural feel for Mozzy to jump into my world."
A blend of radio-friendly bells and signature Bay Area drum and bass patterns, "Bring All Your Friends" is an open letter to Carson's love interest requesting her presence in the studio, along with the rest of her crew. "I record all the time," Carson says of his studio rat ways. "Sometimes I'm recording at 5AM while other times my session starts at 3PM in the afternoon. I can go from a studio session with 12 people in the room smoking and vibing to studio sessions when it's just me and my sweats by myself."
