Last night, Childish Gambino confirmed that his new album is titled Awaken, My Love! and revealed the artwork. The album will be out on December 2nd according to some sources.
Gambino debuted a new song called "Me & Your Mama" today on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show. It's a 6-minute, 3-part epic that moves from a psychedelic lullaby to a rambling, bluesy section with anguished singing. It is here that Gambino's voice is most active. The frenzy of the second movement eventually dissolves into a wobbly refrain. Overall, "Me and Your Mama" does not give any answers about Awaken, My Love! There are only more questions.
