If you need some good ol' fashioned soul, BJ The Chicago Kid will do the trick. The singer is finally releasing his In My Mind album, which has been in the works for a minute now. He actually teased the Kendrick Lamar feature almost a year ago, and today, along with the entire album stream, we've received "The New Cupid."
The guitar-plucking and slow-moving strings on the hook are largely taken from a Raphael Saadiq sample, while BJ croons about lost love, blaming it on Cupid's absence-- he imagines a Cupid who's too busy turning up.
