Floyd Mayweather has said that he's happily retired, and that he's not fighting anymore "no matter what the price is."
However, during a recent live video stream on social media, "Money" Mayweather alluded that he had talked with the UFC about a multi-fight contract, sparking rumors that he may not be retired for good after all.
Adding fuel to the fire, UFC President Dana White recently confirmed that Mayweather is indeed talking with the company about a potential UFC deal.
Per ESPN's Brett Okamoto,
"We're talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal," White told ESPN.
"It's real. He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren't real? He usually tips his hand when he's in the media and then that shit ends up happening."
White added, "We're interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor fucking happened. Anything is possible."
During a live video stream with fans earlier this month, Mayweather said he could make $1 billion off a multi-fight UFC contract.
"They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back," said Mayweather, via Fight Hype.
"I can come right back. If I wanted to, I can come right back to the UFC. I can go fight in the Octagon. I can do a three- or four-fight deal in the Octagon and make a billion dollars. Remember, I'm Floyd 'Money' Mayweather."
Obviously, if Mayweather were to come out of retirement again for a run in the UFC fans would want to see him go up against the UFC Lightweight champ Conor McGregor, who he beat via 10th round TKO in a boxing match back in August. McGregor has not fought since his bout against Mayweather.
It's unlikely, and the odds would be heavily stacked against the undefeated boxer under UFC rules, but like Dana White said, "Mayweather vs. McGregor fucking happened. Anything is possible."
