Rae Sremmurd are poised to start the year off strong.

Rae Sremmurd's "Sremmlife 3" has been teased throughout the year, until November, when it was confirmed to have landed a 2018 release date. Now, Swae Lee has narrowed that down to a single month - January. Over the weekend, Rae Sremmurd performed at Rolling Loud SoCal, where Swae Lee decided to give fans an update on the project. "Sremmlife 3," says a smiling Swae, "coming in January. The hottest music on the fuckin' planet, you feel me?" He proceeds to lower the shades for emphasis, reiterating the sheer scope of "the planet" several times over.

It's good news for Rae Sremmurd fans, who have been patiently waiting for the third chapter of the Sremmlife trilogy to drop. Despite the fact that they haven't dropped an album in 2017, the group have still managed to have a breakout year, thanks to the success of "Black Beatles" & Swae Lee's feature on the infectious "Unforgettable." For some context, both singles currently sit at four times platinum, so it's safe to say that Rae Sremmurd's star power has never been higher.

Insofar as creative direction is concerned, Swae Lee previously teased Sremmlife 3's direction would be similar to that of its predecessors, a "continuation of the chronicle." As they say, if it's not broke, don't fix it. However, after hearing Slim Jxmmi absolutely murder his verse on Gucci Mane's "Stuntin' Ain't  Nothin," it would be nice to hear a few more bars from Uncle Jxmmi. Stay tuned for more news on Rae Sremmurd's latest, coming early 2018.
