"At home feeling great. Appreciate the prayers🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾"

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has been released from the hospital and is back at his home following a brutal helmet to helmet hit during Thursday night's win over the Chicago Bears.

Adams offered an encouraging update on his twitter account moments ago.

The 24-year old receiver was carted off the field after a jarring hit from Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan.

After the game, Trevathan told reporters, per the Chicago Sun Times,

“I did not [realize how bad it was],” Trevathan said after the game. “I realized it once he laid there for while. And I saw his mouthpiece over there on the other side. And he wasn’t moving. He was twitching. I knew it wasn’t good. I immediately dropped down and started praying.”

“I don’t think I hit him in the helmet,” Trevathan said. “But I’ll leave it up to [the league]. I think it was right here [pointing to his chest just below the neck].

Packers cornerback Davon House called the hit "disgusting" after he watched a replay in the locker room, and that was the general consensus from football fans around the league who were watching last night's game. Others, like Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, gave Trevathan the benefit of the doubt.

Per Packers.com,

“I trust when Danny said he wasn’t intentionally trying to hit him like that,” Rodgers said. “He is one of the hardest-hitting players in the NFL. He made a hit on one of our guys last year in the hole that was one of the hardest hits I’ve ever heard.

“But I don’t think he was intentionally trying to hurt ’Tae.”

Due to a new rule that the NFL implemented this off-season, Trevathan could be suspended for the hit that sent Adams to the hospital.

According to ESPN

"The NFL competition committee announced that certain illegal hits, previously punishable by a 15-yard penalty, would be subject to immediate ejection and/or suspension on first offense."
