Kerley: "Maybe a ghost put it in me. You know the Ghost of Christmas Past?"

New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has officially returned to the team after serving a four-game suspension for failing a drug test. Kerley, who tested positive for performance enhancing drugs back in November, had vowed to investigate this matter until he was able to figure out what caused the positive test.

Speaking with reporters yesterday at the team's practice facility, Kerley joked about how the PEDs got into his system.

“I don’t know,” Kerley said. “There’s a lot of ghosts around here. Maybe a ghost put it in me. You know the Ghost of Christmas Past? A ghost might have put it in me. I don’t know.”

As for the "investigation" into his positive drug test, Kerley told reporters, “I ain’t got time to investigate it. It is what it is. I’m back now,”

According to the New York Post, Jets head coach Todd Bowles said the team still has not decided whether to activate Kerley for Sunday's game against the Saints in New Orleans. In eight games this season, Kerley has just 22 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown, which came in a Week 6 loss to New England.

New York, 5-8 on the season, will finish up the year with the Saints, a home game against the Los Angeles Chargers and a road game against the Patriots in the season finale.
