Hate it or love it, the Big Baller Brand is doing big things right now.
Prienu Vytautas, the Lithuanian team that signed LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball, recently announced a series of five exhibition games bearing the name "Big Baller Brand Challenge." Refs officiating those games will wear Big Baller Brand sponsored gear, the center court logo is of the BBB, and BigBallerBrand.com frequently flashes on the digital advertisement boards along the sidelines.
That said, there are some things that aren't very "big baller" about LaVar Ball's company. For instance, they're allegedly stiffing a clothing manufacturing company out of $25,000.
According to the Los Angeles Times' Nathan Fenno, Closet Collection, a clothing manufacturing company based in Chino, California has actually been suing LaVar Ball’s company in San Bernardino County Superior Court since November, alleging that they're owed $25,000.
“When it came time to make payments, they kind of bailed,” a Closet Collection representative told The L.A. Times. “We tried for about three months. They said they would make payment about seven times. They just kept pushing it back and kept pushing it back.”
The manufacturer claims to have made approximately 2,500 pieces of merchandise for the BBB, in addition to producing the brand’s website and offering storage and brand management services. “Basically their entire website was produced by us,” the representative said.
In addition to this lawsuit, the Better Business Bureau recently gave the Big Baller Brand an 'F' rating, the lowest possible grade that can be handed out.
