Curry to be re-evaluated after two weeks.

The Golden State Warriors have announced that Stephen Curry avoided structural damage on his ankle, but he is still expected to miss several weeks. The team says the 2x NBA MVP will be re-evaluated in two weeks, but there's no specific timetable for his return.

Curry injured his injured his ankle during Golden State's 125-115 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. He was seen coming out of the locker room on crutches and his sprained ankle reportedly swelled to the size of a baseball the following night.

Curry is averaging 26.3 points, 6.6 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Warriors this season. The team is currently 19-6, which is second best in the Western Conference behind the 18-4 Houston Rockets.

Golden State will be in Curry's home state tonight as they take on the Hornets, followed by a trip to Detroit on Friday night before returning home to face the Blazers and Mavericks next week. Hopefully Curry will be back in action by the time Christmas rolls around, as an NBA Finals rematch against the Cavs awaits on Christmas Day.

Even without the 4x All-Star in the lineup, Steve Kerr still has plenty of fire power on his roster to keep things rolling while Curry recovers.
