Earlier this year, Indianapolis rapper slash producer Mathaius Young released his latest mixtape, Take The Night Away, which featured guest appearances from Lil West, Drayco McCoy, and fa9. While the rapper is still new to the game, his tape was solid enough to earn him a VERY HOTTTT user rating from the likes of ya'll. For now, Young continues to push his Soundcloud numbers, while he remains hard at work on his upcoming follow-up. While we wait, Young has dropped a new self-produced single called "Regal," and the good news is, it's a banger. In fact, the single picks up where Take The Night Away, finding Young delivering effortless bars over an eerie-synth driven beat.
Referencing the WCW legend William Regal, Young channels the retired wrestler with some vicious bars. "Drop him right in the park man, like I'm Cartman, hoppin' right in that car man, pressin' start man, red dot right over my head bitch I been a target," raps Young. "In the burbs made it from the projects, heard we talkin' numbers let me start the auction." Despite the fact that it's over before it ever really begins, "Regal" is perfect for those Soundcloud rap aficionados who like their songs clocking in at less than two minutes and thirty seconds.
Still, it's a good look from Mathaius Young, who further establishes that he can get down both behind the mic and behind the boards in equal measure. Here's hoping that the young Indianapolis rapper can maintain this level of grind for his next album, because if so, big things may very well pop off for him.
