Don't talk the talk, if you can't walk the walk.

Shannon Sharpe has long been known as a public LeBron James defender. However, many were ready to see James put the Memphis Grizzlies and Dillon Brooks in their place. Luckily, everyone got exactly what they wanted when the Lakers eliminated the Grizzlies in the opening round. The game was an exclamation point from James and the Lakers, letting everyone know not to write them off. But Sharpe believes the issue between James and Dillon was lopsided.

The talents between the two are vastly different. James has every accolade an NBA player could ever achieve. As Brooks is still looking for a way to create a name for himself. However, poking the bear may not have been the best idea. According to Sharpe, especially when your talent doesn't match your words. "Dillion Brooks is competing with himself. He's trying to make a name for himself by talking, but at some point your game has to do the walking."

Shannon Sharpe Believes Brooks Wasn't Only Issue For Grizzlies

The Grizzlies had a very interesting season. The franchise had one of the better regular seasons in the organization's history. However, off-the-court issues hindered the team from the beginning. Ja Morant continues to deal with legal issues stemming from incidents away from the game. While Brooks may have opened up a can of worms, he may not have wanted. He may argue it, but Brooks has built a reputation as a trash-talker on the court. However, being known as that player isn't always easy.

The lights were bright, and the Grizzlies were ready to be in the dark. It felt similar to the way the Sacramento Kings were eliminated. A young team that wasn't ready for the moment. However, the entire series could be a great learning tool for a team that should be looking to prove a point. Whatever the case may be, the Grizzlies learned to respect their elders this post-season. Do you agree with Shannon Sharpe's statements on Brooks and how he handled the series? Let us know what you think in the comment section. For the latest NBA news, keep it right here with HNHH.
