LeBron James has been at the forefront of the trash talk between the Lakers and Grizzlies. Thanks to Memphis forward Dillon Brooks. After Game 2, Brooks called James old and that he doesn't really respect the player James is now. Those comments have set everyone's hair on fire. As the media and fans have been discussing how James will respond in Game 3. On Friday, James was asked by the media if trash-talk ever becomes more than what it is during a game. James' had a short response.
"The game is won in between the four lines. Always has. Always will be.” James was seemingly all business during his answer. However, one has to believe that James has Brooks' comments running in the back of his mind. Maybe that has been the plan all along from Brooks. To push James past his limits. Yes, James is still very much a strong force for the Lakers. However, the NBA legend may take a little longer to rest as he edges closer to being 40.
LeBron James Looks Over Trash-Talk
The Lakers dropped a golden opportunity in going up 2-0 in the series against Memphis. The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant for the game. The Memphis superstar injured his hand during Game 1. However, Morant's availability still hasn't been announced for the Game 3 contest. But the Lakers can't worry about the health of the Grizzlies. Los Angeles needs to take care of their own team. Including the recent weak performance from Lakers big man Anthony Davis.
Davis was abysmal in Game 2 for the Lakers. The former number-one overall pick only recorded 13 points in the ugly loss. James will need Davis back to being his old self in order for the team to pass the tough test that the Grizzlies are.
