We keep you up to date on everything going on in battle rap.

We’ve got a bunch of announcements on today’s edition of battle rap updates. URL has been quite busy. They’ve got a couple of events in the works and one that has been officially announced. Also, we’ve got confirmation of one of the most anticipated battles in recent memory. On the other side of things, Battle of the Zae 8 is shaping up very nicely. And of course we’ve got new battles from URL, King of the Dot, and Queen of the Ring.


JC vs Chef Trez

What’s New In Battle Rap (May 13)

After being gone for a few years, JC makes his long awaited return to the URL stage. His opponent is Writer’s Bloque team member and URL rising star Chef Trez. The return surely didn’t disappoint, as both MCs put on a great show.

Serius Jones vs Dizaster

What’s New In Battle Rap (May 13)

Dizaster was a last minute announcement for Blackout 7, and he has a lot of fans in the King of the Dot crowd so they were excited. His performance didn’t end up impressing a lot of the fans, but it had the added bonus of being the guy Math Hoffa punched vs the guy who punched Math Hoffa.

Two of Queen of the Ring’s more popular battlers had a clash for the main event of QOTR’s “All Hail The Queens” event in New York.

Mr. Wavy vs Bill Collector

Two battlers who have been away from the URL stage for a couple of years make their return at Born Legacy 4. The fans don’t seem to be too impressed with the battle as a whole, particularly Wavy’s performance.

Rone vs Head I.C.E.

King of the Dot champion Rone puts his title on the line at Blackout 7 against fan favorite Head I.C.E. While this one relies heavily on preference when picking a winner, the judges are always the final word, and they awarded Head I.C.E. with the chain.

URL Announces Double Impact 2

Last year, URL decided to cash in on the success of 2 on 2 battles by hosting an event called “Double Impact”. The event, consisting of all 2 on 2s, is getting a second installment on June 24th. The card has yet to be released, but they insist they’ll have the best of the best.

Real Deal Confirms URL Battle With Reepah Rell

A couple of days ago Real Deal made a video announcing that he had another URL battle coming up June 11th. Without being able to say too much about the card, he told us that his opponent is going to be Reepah Rell.

The Saurus vs Reverse Live Announced For BOTZ 8

Fans of the West Coast battle scene are in for a great time this July in San Jose. Battle of the Zae 8 will feature these two vets going at it in probably the best place for it.

Tay Roc Confirms His Battle With Hollow Da Don

Remember a few weeks ago when Hollow said he was writing for Tay Roc? Well, it’s moved to the next level. In an interview with Hip Hop Is Real, Tay Roc states that “They didn’t really book a date, but me and Hollow is booked”. So while the event has not been picked yet, the battle is in the works to go down.

Debo Reaches Out To Eurgh For QOTR vs Don’t Flop

Debo, CEO of Queen of the Ring battle league, took to Twitter to challenge Eurgh and Don’t Flop to a cross brand event. QOTR has been making a habit of events of that nature, such as QOTR vs West Coast and QOTR vs Bull Pen. Debo says QOTR will fly out to the U.K. Eurgh retweeted, but no other confirmation seems to have happened just yet.

Passport issues claim another victim. Just like Aye Verb vs Charron, Shox vs NJT has been cancelled due to the travelling battler not being able to get into the country. Of course, this is all according to a tweet from Shox The Rebel.
