The 2022 Met Gala Celebrating "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" - Inside

The first Monday in May is still several weeks away, but already, the guest list for the upcoming Met Gala is weighing heavily on the minds of fashion lovers. Last year's theme, America: An Anthology of Fashion, brought out plenty of interesting looks (not to mention some major misses), and 2023 is sure to bring even more. According to recent, rumours, however, this may be the first time we don't see any of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters walk the red carpet in their designer duds.

This time around, patrons will be honouring a late designer and style icon with the Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty theme. Throughout his illustrious career, the creative designed for the likes of Jean Patou, Chloé, and Valentino. He sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 85, having fulfilled many lifetimes worth of dreams and goals.

Due to Lagerfeld's unbelievable archive of creations, fashion lovers are ecstatic to see which of them will resurface on the red carpet later this year. As of late, many are eager to know what this guest list looks like as well following 2022's star-studded affair. As Page Six notes, this was the first time we saw the Kardashian-Jenner family at the Met Gala together. Previously, Kim, Kendall, and Kylie, as well as matriarch Kris Jenner were lucky enough to attend.

This time, however, Vogue's editor-in-chief is reportedly cracking down on her invitations and doesn't plan on sending any to the reality starlets. Of course, there's no official confirmation of this gossip. Additionally, there are conflicting reports from the Kardashian-Jenner's insiders denying their banishment from the annual celebration. Last year, Kim's Marilyn Monroe dress undeniably overshadowed some of the evening's other major fashion moments, which could be why they're being "punished."

The mother of four's first Met Gala was in 2013 when she joined Kanye West while carrying their first child. At the time, Kardashian faced no shortage of backlash and criticism, which she addressed in 2019. "I went home [and] cried of insecurity," she wrote on Twitter. "I didn't know anyone [and] I'm sure no one wanted me there."

In the time since, she and her sisters have gone on to break necks in New York, wearing designs from some of the biggest names in fashion. The SKIMS founder's incredible roster of gowns comes from names like Vivienne Westwood, Balenciaga, Balmain, and Givenchy, just to name a few.
