Shannon Sharpe gave his Super Bowl takes today.

Shannon Sharpe is someone who will always command a ton of respect in the football world. After all, he has a grand total of three Super Bowls to his name. Overall, that is a very solid haul and at the end of the day, he is one of the greatest tight ends ever. Having said that, it should be acknowledged that his opinions ought to be respected. Moreover, he has to work with someone like Skip Bayless, which ultimately makes his job that much harder. He has to deal with a lot, and he does so with class.

Last night was a big night for Sharpe as he got to take in the Super Bowl. The championship game means a lot to him, especially as someone who has won it three times. Furthermore, he had predicted a big game from Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes had that game as he won Super Bowl MVP. Contrarily, Skip Bayless had picked the Philadelphia Eagles to win. Having said that, this win gave Sharpe every opportunity to rub it in Bayless' face.

However, Sharpe decided to talk about the actual game. At one point, he was asked who deserves the credit for the Chiefs' success last night. The NFL Hall Of Famer made it very clear that the credit belongs to Mahomes. Although Andy Reid called a great game, Sharpe likes that Mahomes can actually execute on the game plan. “We’ve seen coaches diagram great plays and QBs can’t make it happen, but Mahomes makes it happen even when there isn’t a great play," Sharpe explained. Reid and Mahomes have made an exceptional duo over the last two years, and Sharpe understands that better than anyone.

Subsequently, there is now a lot of debate as to whether or not Mahomes is a top-three quarterback ever. He has only played five seasons, and he is already getting thos considerations. Needless to say, he will one day have a bust in the same room as Shannon Sharpe's. Let us know what you think of Shannon's take, in the comments below.
