Hello again, battle fans! Today’s edition of What’s New In Battle Rap features a few huge names clashing with one another. Tay Roc and Charron battled on U Dubb and The Saurus battled Aye Verb on King of the Dot. Speaking of Aye Verb, there have been some developments regarding his future in battling, or lack thereof. Keep reading to find out about all that, plus a bunch of Blackout 7 announcements.

What’s New In Battle Rap (March 4)

Corey “Smack Killer” Charron goes to the U Dubb stage to battle Tay Roc, one of Smack’s biggest names. It’s pretty much agreed that Roc lost this one, with some saying his energy wasn’t at its usual level and some saying he wasn’t gassed like he is on URL.

The Saurus vs Aye Verb

What’s New In Battle Rap (March 4)

Possibly the biggest battle to happen at the Bunker so far, this one features two legends of the culture. The Saurus and Aye Verb are on tons of people’s top five lists and this battle brought out quality performances from both of them.

Showoff vs Math Hoffa

This “battle of the bullies” between these two Brooklyn MCs was pretty one sided if you ask most of the fans. The general consensus is that Math Hoffa gave a pretty lackluster performance here.

Aye Verb Announces Retirement

Aye Verb recently took to social media and stated that after May of this year he will be done with battling. While we never want to minimize such an announcement, it would not be the first (or second or third) time a battle rapper announced retirement and changed their mind.

Ultimate Rap League recently dropped the trailer for the newest installment of their “Born Legacy” series, the last few of which have been rather successful. This one goes down March 11th in Brooklyn and features five battles on the card.

Loso is pretty new to the battle scene, and he’s never been on King of the Dot before. With that being the case, many fans of the league are unfamiliar with him. In any case, it’ll be interesting to see what he does on the big stage.
