File this under "shocking," LaVar Ball made a bold prediction about the Los Angeles Lakers after his son, Lonzo, was selected by LA with the #2 pick in last night's NBA Draft.
Shortly after the Lakers pick was announced, Lonzo sat down for an interview with ESPN and he was his usual, calm, cool and collected self. Immediately following Lonzo's interview, ESPN spoke with LaVar who was a bit more energetic and outspoken, as you'd expect.
Wearing his purple and gold Big Baller Brand hat, LaVar proudly told ESPN,
“I’m going to tell you what: Lonzo Ball is going to take the Lakers to the playoffs his first year,” LaVar Ball told ESPN. “Come see me when he does. I’ll have another hat on that say, ‘I told you so.’”
Last season the Lakers finished 26-56, the third worst record in the NBA. Lonzo has his work cut out for him.
