LaVine reportedly out for the 2017 dunk contest.

NBA fans won't be getting the much anticipated Zach LaVine vs. Aaron Gordon Dunk Contest rematch during All-Star Weekend next month.

According to Basketball Insider's Michael Scotto, LaVine, the two-time defending Dunk Contest champion, has declined an invite to defend his title and won't be going for a three-peat.

As a rookie LaVine burst onto the scene to win his first Dunk Contest crown and last year's repeat featured an epic battle against Orlando's Aaron Gordon, who is reportedly considering give it another shot in 2017.

Prior to LaVine's arrival in the 2014-15 season the Dunk Contest had been in a terrible funk, but the tricks he and Gordon pulled out last season will go down as one of the greatest head to head battles of all-time.

Hopefully, we can still rely on Aaron Gordon to break out some jaw-dropping dunks on February 18th.

Which NBA stars do you think can give Gordon a run for his money?
