It's been 10 years since Blackalicious' last album.

Some of our readers born before the year 1994 may remember listening to California-based duo Blackalicious back in the day. 2002's Blazing Arrow and 2005's The Craft consisted of nothing but fire underground beats from Chief Xcel and thought-provoking bars from Gift of Gab.

It's been a minute -- 10 years to be precise -- since the last Blackalicious album. The drought is finally over, as they drop Imani Vol. 1, a project they've been putting together for the last 3 years.

“[T]his kind of feels like a new beginning,” Gift of Gab told XXL. “Not like we’re starting over, but it feels kind of like a second wind. And I’m real excited about that.”
