Dave East pays his respect to Kiing Shooter on his latest single.

New York lost a rising star this week with the passing of Kiing Shooter. Though he had yet to break out before his untimely death, his ties to Nas and Dave East already had many people keeping their eyes on his next move. East, specifically, was close to Kiing Shooter, both on and off wax.

Earlier today, Dave East released his new single, "My Loc" to pay homage to Kiing Shooter. The rapper's heartfelt new track details their friendship long before the fame. East pours his heart out, detailing the emptiness he's felt since Shooter's passing.

The loose single came with little to no warning, though East has been preparing the release of his new project Karma 3 which is due out later this year. Check out "My Loc" below.

Quotable Lyrics
You was my loc, I used to argue witcha
We was used to taking losses,
Ran it up, I started ballin' witcha
The whole hood cried when you died
That's what you call official
