Bella announced retirement on her reality show "Total Bellas."

After 12 years in the WWE, Nikki Bella announced her retirement from the company over the weekend on her reality TV show Total Bellas. The announcement was a surprise to her fans who were hoping to see her return to the ring. Although, as Bella stated on the show, travel and the punishment the sport had on her body was just too much to handle at 35 years old.

"[The tour] was good but I just feel like I'm too old for that travel. The travel was really really rough," Bella explained. "So, I realized, I was like, why am I doing this? I don't feel good.

"I really am ready to hang up the jersey, like I can say it fully. Here's to closing one chapter and the next one opening."

According to a new report from TMZ Sports, sources close to Nikki say that the former wrestler has no bad blood towards the WWE and that she would be open to returning if given the right opportunity. Bella will reportedly be a WWE ambassador and will continue her reality show which is produced by the WWE.

Despite her retirement, we haven't seen the last of Nikki Bella which can only mean good things for her fans and those who love women's wrestling.
