The Spider is hoping to face McGregor at 180 lbs.

UFC legend Anderson Silva says he has three fights left in him, and he's hoping one of them will be against Irish superstar Conor McGregor.

Speaking to the media at his new Spider Kick gym in Los Angeles on Monday, Silva said (H/T MMA Fighting), “I have three more and then it’s done. It’s over.”

The 43-year old fighter is set to challenge up-and-coming Middleweight Israel Adesanya at UFC 234 in Australia on February 9. After that bout, The Spider is hoping McGregor will be willing to jump up to the Middleweight division to fight him at 180.

“At his point in my career, I believe that the good challenge is the superfight,” Silva said (H/T MMA Fighting). “I talk to {UFC president] Dana [White] about Georges St-Pierre, about McGregor, about McGregor especially because McGregor is a challenge, this fight. I just talk to Dana a lot about the fight that’s very interesting, fight to this guy. Because he’s an amazing fighter and a legends in this sports and let’s go see. That’s a good game, superfights, and it’s very interesting for my fans.”

“I believe 180 is good for me and McGregor,” Silva said. “So I just wait because I don’t control this. This is the question for Dana but maybe that this is amazing fight for the fans.”

McGregor said he was "interested" in a Silva fight back in October, though there's no shortage of opponents looking to get a big money fight with the 30-year old southpaw. Dana White has recently flirted with the idea of Dustin Poirier facing McGregor once his suspension is over, and there's always the much anticipated Nate Diaz trilogy.

Silva (34-8) defeated Derek Brunson by unanimous decision in his last fight at UFC 208 in February 2017. His upcoming opponent, Stylebender, boasts an unblemished 15-0 record.
