Conor McGregor's UFC return is imminent now that his legal issues are behind him, the only question is when we'll see the "Champ Champ" back in the octagon. According to the Irish Superstar himself, UFC fans won't have to wait much longer for his highly anticipated return.
When asked about his return to UFC, where it is believed his next fight will be against Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, McGregor told TMZ yesterday: "Yes, very close. It's not official but close. [In 2018] I believe." As far as where the fight will take place, McGregor added, "I love New York City and I'd love to fight in Madison Square Garden again, but I believe this one will be Las Vegas."

McGregor first laid the groundwork for his fight against Nurmagomedov back in April, when he attacked a bus full of UFC fighters, including the Lightweight champ, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. McGregor, 30, recently plead guilty to a single violation of disorderly conduct as part of a plea deal that involves no jail time and will not affect McGregor's travel visa.
McGregor made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather last August but he has not fought in the UFC since November 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden. Nurmagomedov, 29, won the lightweight belt in Brooklyn on April 7, after McGregor was stripped of it for inactivity.
