He's working with the Prince estate to release a collection of unreleased material.

Jay-Z is working on an upcoming album of unreleased material from the late Prince. A press release from Tidal reveals that the legal dispute between the streaming service and Prince's estate has been resolved and that a full-length posthumous album will be released through Tidal in 2019. The album will be available exclusively through Tidal for two weeks following its release.

Jay is helping to compile the album, which is made up of material from the vault, along with the estate. “Our only goal is to share Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted,” he says in a press release. “After thoughtful and honest conversation with him, he chose TIDAL as his partner for HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two, and we will continue to respect and honor Prince’s enduring legacy and wishes with this new collection.”

A previous report stated that a "time-specific" compilation would be released in the near future. It is unclear whether or not the songs that will appear on the Tidal-exclusive year will be restricted to a particular stretch of time.

The news comes following accusations that Tidal has misrepresented its stream data by the hundreds of millions, specifically for Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo and Beyoncé's Lemonade. Tidal has questioned the reports and denied any foul play.
