Anything can happen.

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Isaiah Thomas is set to become a free agent at the end of this season and he could be returning to a former team. Despite the way he left Boston, Thomas is apparently open to playing for the the Celtics.

When asked by a fan if he'd consider playing for the C's again, Thomas quote-tweeted, "Anything can happen." Thomas had his best seasons in Boston, most notably last year's post-season run, but he was clearly upset with the way the Celtics went about trading him.

He has since reconciled with Celtics GM Danny Ainge and it looks like he's open to the reunion, but the Celtics probably won't be interested in another point guard this offseason, especially if IT would be opposed to accepting a role off the bench.

“I'm not no sixth man,” Thomas recently declared in an interview with USA TODAY Sports. “And I won't be a sixth man (in the future). I just want everybody to know that, like clear as can be. I'm a two-time All-Star and a starter who has done things that a lot of people in this league haven't done (when) given that opportunity."

Thomas, 29, is averaging 15.9 points and 5.3 assists per game since being traded to the Lakers at the NBA deadline.
